Hardcore Porn, Horrific Images Flood Facebook

Shame on anyone who read that title and then immediately raced to log into Facebook to celebrate this development.

Just kidding, I know my Kyles Filers aren’t like that.

Particularly not hip-hop expert/Facebook fam Arasia Magnetic who prompted this morning’s discussion of a Facebook issue that has turned Mark Zuckerberg’s moneymaker into something even Ron Jeremy might raise a bushy eyebrow at.

The cause of this craziness is unclear, according to the always amusing Gawker, which suggests the Guy Fawkes virus as a possible culprit.  But we all know bad things often befall users who click on odd photos or videos that dare you to watch such sights as Soulja Boy beating his girlfriend or Miley Cyrus disgracing Billy Ray as well as every other aspect of her lineage.

Whatever is causing it, it’s ruining the Facebook experience.  I speak as someone whose eyes have been sufficiently seared by timeline images of over-long breasts being held toward the camera, two women in a position that boggled my neurons and an indecent image of a nude Marge Simpson and Bart in a decidedly non-parent/child predicament.

I’ve noticed a number of my friends have been deleting users whose accounts have been affected.  I’ll keep posting any updates I find and welcome you to do the same until a solution is found.

But as we await that, I have to ask:

Has this shown you how vulnerable your information and profile are on Facebook?  Are you scared to log in to this now NSFW site?  And have you considered deleting your account?

I want to know what you think…..I’ll incorporate the most thought-provoking remarks into this post, so bring it….

Also, shouts out to all my Kyles Filers whom I have invited to join the think tank.  I’ll be making an announcement about how that will work on Friday, so do come back!
